Eden: Femininity, Family & Community.

Created mostly in Nairobi where the artist spent formative and recovery time exploring possibilities, Eden is a body of work celebrating the African woman, her feminine essence and family. The collection captures aspects of the female existence; beauty, love, fashion, family, jewellery, wisdom, motherhood, children, sexuality and community in a delicately interwoven relationship between materials, techniques and meaning.

Chuma began to explore with laser etching and CNC engraving with this body of work, blending figurative and abstract imagery that captured private moments he shared with people in a dynamic form that portrays different aspects of existence: femininity, family and community.

The artist wrote a lot of descriptive haiku styled poetry for many of the works in in this collection.
