The Herds

I made some puppets for The Herds; ” a public art and climate action project on an unprecedented scale – one that has ambitiously brought together culture and climate.

Working as a build partner and design consultant in Nigeria, I built a life-sized Elephant, a Giraffe and facilitated the build of several other animals traveling on a 20,000km journey from the Congo Basin to the Arctic Circle, in a migratory flight away from effects of climate disaster.

Designed in Cape Town, by the Ukwanda Puppetry and Designs Art Collective, “THE HERDS unites leading artists and organisations committed to driving change. Key stops include Kinshasa, Lagos, Dakar, Marrakesh, Casablanca, Madrid, Barcelona, Marseille, Arles, Paris, Venice, Manchester, London, Aarhus, Copenhagen, Stockholm, and Trondheim, culminating in a final event in the Arctic Circle.”

THE HERDS was created by The Walk Productions and produced in Nigeria by AWCA.
